Peppermint is the ultimate herbal classic – there’s a reason it is loved in Germany like hardly any other herbal tea. On our search for exciting herbal teas, we particularly liked this peppermint because it tastes almost as good as freshly picked mint from the garden – and that’s saying something!
This tea tastes of peppermint. And boy, does it taste of peppermint! It is so pepperminty that other peppermints hardly taste of peppermint next to it. If this peppermint were a car, it would be a real sports car – because the taste really takes off!
Our peppermint grows together with many other herbs in northern Austria, surrounded by a lush green, natural landscape. The growing region lies on the border with Bavaria and the Czech Republic. The peppermint is produced by an agricultural producers’ association, a cooperative of several farmers.
So that herbal tea can be enjoyed safely and without concern, always pour bubbling, boiling water over it and let it steep for at least 5–10 minutes. We recommend 6 g of peppermint leaves (2 heaped tablespoons) per liter of water.
