Let’s be honest: when you think of herbal tea, nettle probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, is it? That’s exactly why these nettle leaves surprised us so much. This tea from Austria wins you over with its honest, slightly sweet taste and makes a wonderful base for your own herbal tea blends.
Taste
The nettle leaves taste mild and smooth, with no trace of bitterness anywhere. On top of that comes a light sweetness. As herbal tea is naturally caffeine-free, its gentle, herbaceous taste also goes well with relaxing evenings.
Origin
Our nettle grows together with many other herbs in northern Austria, surrounded by lush green, natural countryside. The growing region lies on the border with Bavaria and the Czech Republic. The nettle is produced by an agricultural producer association, that is, a group of several farmers.

Preparation
To ensure herbal tea can be enjoyed safely, always infuse it with water at a rolling boil and let it steep for at least 5–10 minutes. We recommend 4 g of nettle leaves (2 heaped tablespoons) per liter of water.
