Rooibos, also known as red bush, is a shrub with fine needles from the legume family that grows only in sunny South Africa. For our Rooibos Tea Natural, young branches of the shrub are harvested and dried in the sun. Through oxidation, the tea develops its mild, fruity aroma and its typical reddish-brown color. Since rooibos contains no caffeine, you can enjoy it at any time of day.
Taste
The deep red cup reveals a bold yet delicate, fruity-sweet flavor. Our rooibos contains no added sugar or flavoring – you enjoy its pure, natural taste. And whether hot or cold, rooibos is always a treat.
Origin
Our Rooibos Natural comes from South Africa and is grown by a local cooperative in the small town of Clanwilliam, not far from Cape Town. It is harvested after 18 months of growth, between January and March, and then flown fresh to Germany for you.

Preparation
Rooibos is very forgiving and robust. We recommend brewing it at 100 °C and letting it steep for 5–7 minutes. Ideally, warm up your cup and teapot beforehand so the tea doesn’t cool down too quickly.
