What happens when you cross black tea and oolong? A lot of good things, as this Taiwan Red Oolong impressively proves. It's made from tea plants that are actually intended for greener oolong. However, the leaves are allowed to oxidize much longer than with other oolongs – creating almost, but only almost, a black tea.
Taste
Unlike many black teas, Taiwan Red Oolong is hardly bitter and tastes round and pleasant. Still, its flavor is distinctive: sweet, slightly fruity and malty notes are reminiscent of black tea.
Origin
This top-quality tea comes from a tea garden in the Taiwanese region of Nantou and is grown at an altitude of about 350 meters.

Preparation
We recommend 3 g of tea leaves for 250 ml of water at 95 °C and a steeping time of 3 minutes.
